Atlantic City casino smoking ban delayed in 5-4 vote

ATLANTIC CITY -- An intense lobbying effort from the casino industry paid off Wednesday when city council voted, 5-4, to introduce an ordinance that would delay for a year implementing a full smoking ban, set to take effect Oct. 15.

Final vote on the ordinance is to be held Oct. 22.
